3) Forward Inflation Demonstration
A. Instructor Demonstrates Forward Inflation

4) Student Forward Inflation
A. No Flight ! Light Wind with Flat Slope
Note : Student Must Demonstrate Good Kite Control Prior to Advancing
B. Short Flight, Light Wind with Shallow Slope, Straight Level Flight to Approach Flair
Note : Student Must Perfect Flare Timing Prior to Advancing
C. Short Flight, Light Wind on Small Slope with Small Increases in Elevation. Show Deliberate Airspeed Adjustments
Note : Student Must Demonstrate Smooth Transition from Turbulent Brake Position to Hands Up Back to Normal Brakes Before Advancing
D. Short Flight, Light Wind on Small Slope with more Elevation. Stable 45 degree Turns into the Wind
Note : Student Must Demonstrate Proper Landing Procedure in Designated Landing Area Prior to Advancing

5) Introduce Demonstrate Reverse Launch Kiting Techniques

6) Review Summary
A. " Student Flight Progression Check List "
Note : Have Student Explain as many items on Checklist as Applicable Initial Checklist after Good Knowledge Demonstrated

P-2 GROUND SCHOOL INTRODUCTION

Introduce Student Flight Progression Check List and discuss all classroom related topics: Watch Instability and Touching cloud Base videos; Hang in Simulator and demonstrate reserve deployment techniques
Progressive Safety Briefing, Discuss Preflight Safety including Site Assessment, Flight Plans and Contingency Planning

P-2 SITE ACTIVITIES

1) Reverse Inflations
Wind speed less than 12 MPH,

2) High Wind Assisted Launch and Kiting
Wind speed 10-15 MPH

3) Cross Wind Launches
Wind speed up to 5 MPH with 15* or less cross wind. Note: No down wind turns on launch!

4) Reserve Deployment and PLF
When and how to deploy reserve parachute.
Perform multiple PLFs with feet and knees together and good energy transfer through roll.

5) Varied Airspeed Control
Student demonstrated smooth transition and knowledge of Minimum Sink, Turbulent and Normal Brake ranges.

6) S-Turns
Student must demonstrate 90* turns 45* into the wind along a predetermined flight path.

7) Spot Landings
Student must demonstrate safe landing approach to land within 25 feet of a designated spot.

8) Weight Shift and Rear Riser Turns
Student demonstrates good control performing 90* turns into the wind utilizing only weight shift and after utilizing only rear risers.

9) 180* Turns and Figure Eights
With sufficient altitude student demonstrates 180* turns into the wind increasing degree of turn to achieve a Figure Eight and maintain designated ground position.
Note: With good harness posture student initiates turns with Look, Weight Shift and then adds Smooth Brake.

10) Speed Bar
Student must demonstrate good knowledge of risks of employing speed bar and smoothly transition from normal speed to Full Speed Bar and back.

11) Big Ears
Student must demonstrate good knowledge of complications such as increased drag, decreased penetration and loss of feel and impute capabilities as well as desired application like restricted LZs. Student must demonstrate smooth transition in and out of Pig Ears.
